Volvo AdBlue OFF Service / Volvo Truck SCR Removal Software
Introduction
Volvo DEF delete, Volvo AdBlue/SCR delete online service – These solutions are increasingly sought after by Volvo truck owners looking to reduce maintenance costs and avoid common SCR system failures. While the AdBlue (SCR) system helps lower emissions, it often leads to expensive repairs and downtime. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how AdBlue OFF via ECU remapping works, its benefits, and which Volvo models are compatible.
Volvo Truck ECU Programming Process for AdBlue Deactivation:
For Volvo trucks, the AdBlue OFF procedure involves the following steps:
1. Reading the ECU Data
2. Modifying the Software
3. Flashing the ECU
4. Testing and Verification

What is ACM and is it necessary to modify the ACM for AdBlue OFF?
There is another unit called ACM ( Aftertreatment Control Module) that is installed to work alongside with the ECU to control the SCR system. In Volvo trucks the ACM that is paired with the TRW EMS 2.x is Continental. However, There is no need to modify any changes to the ACM, we can delete the AdBlue only by remapping the ECU.
You can read this article about AdBlue OFF and learn more about AdBlue and its pros and cons.
How to Read and Write TRW ECU? (TRW Programming)
We use KTAG master for the “Read and Write” process of this ECU.
We select Volvo truck, Euro 5, D11 and then we select service mode.
In the service mode we can Read the ECU from its pinout (Bench mode).
1. We need cable 144300T115 in order to connect to the ECU and 144300TALI as battery supply power cable.
2. This is the cable you need to “Read and Write” TRW EMS ECU.
3. Disconnect the ECU connector and connect the cable 144300T115 to the ECU.

You can also remove the ECU from the truck and read it on a workbench. When connecting the KTAG tool to the ECU, the system should identify it automatically. Within a few seconds, KTAG will detect the ECU, allowing you to read its data using the “Read Backup” function. Once the identification process is complete, you will be able to view the ECU’s hardware and software versions.
For example, in this case, the ECU’s hardware version is 20995620P04, and the software version is 22989500P01. It is highly recommended to create a backup of the original file before proceeding with any modifications. This ensures that if anything goes wrong during the reading or writing process, the original data is preserved.

To create this backup, simply click the “Read Backup” button. This step guarantees that in case of any issues during the procedure, you will have a complete backup file, allowing you to restore the ECU if needed.
Once the reading process is complete, save the extracted file on your PC. The next step in disabling the AdBlue system involves modifying the ECU data using WinOLS software.
Note: The KTAG can correct the checksum for this ECU during the Writing process so you don’t need to worry about checksum correction.
How to AdBlue OFF in WinOLS?
You have the original ECU file and you open it inside the software, which parts should you modify? Well there is no general formula for things such as AdBlue OFF, EGR OFF, DPF OFF, DTC OFF, etc. Every ECU is different from another and you should use original A2L/Damos file in order to find their values inside the WinOLS software. Things such as Injectin ,Torque, Boost Pressure, etc. has a similar 2d and text view in different types of ECUs and you can learn their patterns and values and find them inside any ECU file, but removing the SCR system and deleting AdBlue has different solutions.
If you want to learn how to remove AdBlue from TRW EMS ECU’s you can join our Volvo AdBlue OFF training course. There, we teach you how you can delete the SCR system for good using Swiftec and WinOLS.
AdBlue OFF online file service
You can read the original ECU file with a laptop and ECU tuning tools such as KESS3, KTAG, with the instructions handed to you earlier in the article. Then you can send the file to out Schiller Tuning File Service and ask for AdBlue off. Our technicians will send you the remapped file 10 minutes later then you can write it back on the ECU. We have guarantee that the file will work and there is not going to be any limp mode and faulty DTC codes.

Let’s say you have a programmer like KTAG and you managed to get a read file from the ECU, now you want to remap the file and delete the Adblue but you don’t have WinOLS knowledge and you don’t have the time to learn it. That’s where our Tuning File Service comes in with services such as AdBlue OFF, DPF OFF, EGR OFF, DTC OFF, and professional ECU calibration remapping for fuel efficiency and power. All you need to do is upload your original ECU file and get the remapped file in the shortest time.

Benefits of Disabling the AdBlue System
Truck owners who choose to deactivate the AdBlue system can experience several advantages, including:
• Lower Operating Costs: Eliminating the need for AdBlue fluid reduces expenses, especially for large fleets.
• Fewer Downtime Issues: AdBlue system malfunctions often result in engine derates or shutdowns. Removing the system prevents these issues.
• Improved Fuel Efficiency: Some drivers report better fuel consumption after AdBlue removal due to reduced engine restrictions.
• Increased Engine Reliability: Without SCR-related faults, trucks experience fewer error codes and sensor failures.
• Optimized Performance in Extreme Conditions: Trucks operating in cold climates or remote areas function better without AdBlue freezing or availability concerns.
Is there any check engine lights and DTC after AdBlue OFF?
When we do an AdBlue delete we also delete all of the related DTC codes such as P20E8, P207F, P204F, P203B, P20EE, P229F, P2BA9, P204C, P2200, P2047. We also ensure that the vehicle will not enter limp mode and will work properly without any check engine lights and fault codes.
Is AdBlue Deactivation Legal?
It is important to consider the legal implications of disabling the AdBlue system. Many countries have strict emissions regulations, and tampering with emissions control systems may result in fines or penalties. This modification is recommended for off-road or export vehicles where emissions compliance is not a concern. Truck owners should consult local regulations before proceeding with AdBlue OFF solutions.
Conclusion
ECU remapping for AdBlue deactivation is a practical solution for Volvo, Renault, and Mack trucks that encounter frequent SCR system issues. By modifying the ECU software, truck owners can eliminate the need for AdBlue while ensuring optimal vehicle performance. However, legal considerations must be taken into account before implementing this solution. For those operating in regions where AdBlue is unnecessary or problematic, professional ECU tuning services provide a reliable and effective alternative to ensure uninterrupted truck operations.
For professional AdBlue OFF tuning and ECU remapping, always seek experienced technicians to guarantee safe and efficient modifications.
