How to use WinOLS?
First you need an original ECU file, which you can get access to using a laptop and a programmer. Right after opening the file inside the software a window pops up that shows if WinOLS supports the checksum or not, then you can fill the project properties of vehicle model, ECU model, build, etc, to have better automatic map recognition. WinOLS automatically recognizes some maps related to the calibration area, which aren’t always correct and can be incorrect. That’s where you need ECU tuning knowledge, you need to be able to tell which is which just by looking at the 2D and Text view of the tables. Let’s say you want to make the fuel leaner, you need to find the lambda tables by searching for them in the 2D and Text view, and add factors to them to turn them into real values. Then you need to change the values in a way that fuel becomes leaner. It’s not a simple process, and its kind of challenging, you need to have proper training to work with professional software like WinOLS.
